Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race. SUPERB DADDY (D235): After the race, H Bowman reported that when the pace of the event increased after the 800 Metres, his mount came under pressure at that point and finished the race off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. VINCY (B213): Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start. Approaching the 2000 Metres was steadied when crowded by SUNNY SHINES (A Atzeni) which shifted in when note quite clear. A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care. In this incident, VINCY shifted in and made contact with GREEN LASER. LOYAL AMBITION (E489): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194): No report. DIAMOND WINNER (H285): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN FAIRY (E448): No report. GREEN LASER (E409): Approaching the 2000 Metres was bumped. After the race, M L Yeung reported that when his mount was travelling strongly and the pace of the event was being run outside of standard time, he rode his mount forward near the 950 Metres where it obtained a position outside the lead near the 700 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HAPPY GOLF (H056): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY GOLF will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. STREET CONQUEROR (H341): After the race, Z Purton stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to take up a forward position and was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to continue forward to avoid racing wide. He added as a result STREET CONQUEROR was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, may be better suited being ridden more conservatively in the early stages. Trainer C S Shum confirmed that the instructions were to take up a forward position with STREET CONQUEROR racing in blinkers for the first time and the expected lack of early pace in the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. EASY SNIP (G211): After the 300 Metres became held up for clear running behind SUPER EAGLE and was awkwardly placed on the heels of that runner when being shifted to its outside. As a result, EASY SNIP did not obtain clear running until after the 250 Metres. After the race, C L Chau reported that his mount was found to have its tongue over the bit after the event. Sent for sampling post-race. HOSS (H055): Slow to begin. Approaching the 50 Metres was shifted to the outside of WOODFIRE CHAMP to continue into clear running. E UNIVERSE (H151): When questioned regarding his riding out over the concluding stages, L Hewitson stated that near the 100 Metres when he was of the opinion that he had established a sizeable lead on the field, he then discontinued from riding his mount out to the finish of the event. He added that he was surprised DOUBLE BINGO improved to his inside close to the finishing line and agreed that he had made an error of judgement although E UNIVERSE was able to hold first placing. L Hewitson was reprimanded for failing to ride his mount out to the finish of the event. He was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to show better judgement and ensure that his mounts are appropriately tested to the finish. Sent for sampling post-race. SUPER EAGLE (G408): K De Melo pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 1000 Metres (see KING OBERON). KING OBERON (H407): K De Melo (SUPER EAGLE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of KING OBERON, resulting in KING OBERON having to be checked. K De Melo was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 28 April 2024 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. HAPPY FEELING (H443): No report. FLYING DRAGON (E360): Shortly after the start COSMO NAVIGATOR was bumped by SPEEDY SMARTIE and then shifted out away from that runner and when being corrected by its rider made contact with TATTENHAM, resulting in TATTENHAM being taken out and crowding FLYING DRAGON which was checked. Was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Making the turn near the 600 Metres WIN SPEED lay out, resulting in SPEEDY SMARTIE being taken out and FLYING DRAGON then being steadied to avoid SPEEDY SMARTIE, shifting out and making the turn wide. FLYING DRAGON then lay out in the middle stages and near the 350 Metres was taken wider when bumped by SPEEDY CHARIOT which shifted to the outside of TATTENHAM to improve. SKY SONG (J159): Over the concluding stages was steadied when crowded and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. WIN SPEED (J205): Jumped only fairly. Passing the 100 Metres was steadied to avoid ROARING BEBE which shifted in. ROARING BEBE (H105): Jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 1000 Metres was eased when crowded between WIN SPEED and SKY SONG which lay in. COSMO NAVIGATOR (H156): Bumped shortly after the start, shifted out and became unbalanced. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SPEEDY SMARTIE (H108): Crowded shortly after the start. JOYFUL LIFE (H426): Over the concluding stages was crowded and was unable to be ridden out to the finish of the event. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. PHILOS (H371): Over the concluding stages SPEEDY SMARTIE (C L Chau) shifted in whilst being ridden along, resulting in JOYFUL LIFE initially shifting in and away from that runner and then being crowded, causing SKY SONG to be steadied when crowded in onto PHILOS which was checked. C L Chau was reprimanded and advised that he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear. MY INTELLIGENT (G031): Sent for sampling post-race.

GLORIOUS JOURNEY (J137): Near the 300 Metres GALLANT CROWN shifted out and away from WOOD ON FIRE and made contact with SURE JOYFUL, resulting in SURE JOYFUL shifting out and GLORIOUS JOURNEY being steadied and shifted out to avoid SURE JOYFUL. Sent for sampling post-race. GOOD LUCK WIN (J135): Raced tight for some distance shortly after the start and made contact with MR ALADDIN. After the race, L Ferraris reported that with his mount stepping up in distance he was instructed to hold a forward position. He added his mount lay out throughout the event once it obtained the lead. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued. WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419): After the race, A Badel reported that whilst he had expected to hold a more forward position than its previous starts from the inside barrier, WINDICATOR FAMILY jumped well and obtained a more forward position than what he had anticipated. NOT A FEW (J109): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 200 Metres became held up for clear running between DEVAS TWELVE and GOOD LUCK WIN and did not obtain clear running until near the 100 Metres. DEVAS TWELVE (H435): After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount raced "flat” tonight, similarly to the manner in which it had raced at its most recent start on 16 March 2024. Trainer W Y So agreed with Jockey Purton and stated that he would now provide DEVAS TWELVE with a let-up at his Conghua stables. SURE JOYFUL (G125): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 300 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race. MR ALADDIN (H386): Bumped shortly after the start. ATOMIC BEAUTY (H066): Near the 1500 Metres was momentarily crowded by DEVAS TWELVE which raced tight to the inside of GOOD LUCK WIN. Lay out between the 250 Metres and the 100 Metres, resulting in its rider B Avdulla changing his whip through to his left hand. KEEN UNITY (G298): Near the 650 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from STURDY RUBY.

TELECOM SPEED (G259): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. SAVVY CHIC (G261): When questioned, B Avdulla stated that his instructions were to take up a forward position and attempt to lead if possible. He said after riding his mount along in the early stages to comply with his instructions, when MR VALIANT held the lead, he elected to take up a position to that runner’s outside. He added that in the Home Straight SAVVY CHIC failed to respond to his riding and gave ground. Trainer F C Lor confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued such instructions on the basis that SAVVY CHIC was able to win in the same grade when racing in an on-pace position and also barrier trialed well on 2 April 2024 when it led. He added that, in his opinion, SAVVY CHIC may have been better suited by being allowed to stride forward in the early stages and cross MR VALIANT. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, SAVVY CHIC will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MR VALIANT (G288): No report. GREAT ACHIEVER (J049): In the early stages raced ungenerously when positioned tight to the inside of SAVVY CHIC. After being crossed by SAVVY CHIC, GREAT ACHIEVER continued to race ungenerously for some distance thereafter. MOLLY'S WITNESS (J121): Jumped awkwardly and then bumped with HERCULES. WINNING HEART (H065): After the race, H Bentley stated that his intention was to endeavour to hold a more forward position, but despite riding his mount along in the early stages WINNING HEART did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. He said from the outside barrier he was unable to obtain cover which resulted in HARRY’S HERO racing keenly and being obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. CHATER GOLD (J004): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. FOREMOST TEDDY (J058): After the race, K De Melo reported that he was asked to ride his mount where comfortable. He said due to the early pace of the event being run outside of standard time, FOREMOST TEDDY was able to obtain a position outside the lead without being pressured to do so. Sent for sampling post-race. JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213): Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier. After the race, A Badel reported that his mount was obliged to race wide for the majority of the event and being up in class gave ground in the Home Straight. WINNING DRAGON (E461): Near the 50 Metres was checked when crowded between HAMERON and EIGHTEEN PALMS which was taken in by IVY LEAGUE (K De Melo). K De Melo was severely reprimanded for making insufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in. SIMPLY MAVERICK (H346): Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier. Sent for sampling post-race. NOBLE PURSUIT (H324): No report. SHOW RESPECT (H138): Between the 150 Metres and the 50 Metres was badly held up for clear running. EIGHTEEN PALMS (H033): When the pace steadied near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from LOVERO. The Stewards considered a protest/objection lodged by Mr C S Shum, trainer of 5th placegetter, EIGHTEEN PALMS, against IVY LEAGUE being declared the winner alleging interference over the concluding stages. After considering the evidence, the Stewards overruled the protest/objection when they found that whilst IVY LEAGUE had shifted in, crowding and resulting in EIGHTEEN PALMS being checked, they were not satisfied that had such interference not occurred, EIGHTEEN PALMS would have finished in advance of IVY LEAGUE. Weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. At a subsequent inquiry, Mr Shum was fined the sum of $5,000 for lodging a frivolous protest/objection. Approaching the finish was checked when crowded by IVY LEAGUE (K De Melo) which shifted in. K De Melo was severely reprimanded for making insufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in. LOVERO (H451): Crowded on jumping. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of O’LINER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, O’LINER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. He stated that making the Home Turn KING ECCELLENTE lost momentum when being held up behind O’LINER as that runner gave ground quickly. He added that after being shifted to the outside on straightening KING ECCELLENTE finished the race off only fairly which he attributed to the incident on the Home Turn and KING ECCELLENTE being up in Class 3 tonight.
