YOUNG FIGHTER (K464): No report. ALABAMA SONG (K480): Near the 150 Metres lay out, resulting in its rider B Avdulla changing his whip through to his left hand. Sent for sampling post-race. EMERGING STAR (K390): Bumped shortly after the start. A short distance later was steadied to avoid LIGHT YEARS GLORY (M Chadwick) which shifted in when not clear. M Chadwick was severely reprimanded. Approaching the first turn commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied away from YOUNG FIGHTER. EMERGING STAR then hung out making the first turn and as a consequence raced wide and without cover thereafter. Leaving the 900 Metres was eased when being crossed by YOUNG FIGHTER. Approaching the 500 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced when SUPER DRAGON shifted to the outside of KING DANCE to commence a forward move. SUPER DRAGON (K389): After the event L Ferraris stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position but when his mount jumped only fairly it settled further back in the field. He said approaching the first turn near the 900 Metres SUPER DRAGON, which was having it first race start, became badly unbalanced when reluctant to hold its position to the inside of JUST FOLLOW ME. He said SUPER DRAGON then continued to race greenly for the remainder of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING CHAMPION (K429): Near the 150 Metres was eased when crowded between MOTOR and ALABAMA SONG which shifted out abruptly. After the event M F Poon stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position. He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow WINNING CHAMPION to continue forward to avoid covering additional ground.

GIMME FIVE (J099): Sent for sampling post-race. EXCELLENT DADDY (E321): Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between LUCKY GENERATIONS and TAIHANG SCENERY which shifted out. ALL EYES ON ME (J453): Shortly after the start was crowded between FALCON COURT and SOLAR UP which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. ISLAND GOLDEN (H018): After the event K C Leung reported that in the Home Straight his mount was reluctant to improve to the inside of GUSTY FIGHTER when placed under pressure. After the race an endoscopic examination was conducted ISLAND GOLDEN on at the request of Trainer K L Man. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND GOLDEN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TAIHANG SCENERY (J314): Shifted out at the start and was bumped. In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 600 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from DOUBLE BINGO. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of FLYING PHANTOM. LUCKY GENERATIONS (J338): Bumped at the start and became unbalanced. Near the 600 Metres was steadied to avoid ISLAND GOLDEN when racing keenly. LUCKY GENERATIONS then continued to race keenly for some distance thereafter. Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running. SOLAR UP (J134): Shortly after the start shifted out, made contact with ALL EYES ON ME and became unbalanced. GUSTY FIGHTER (J029): No report. FALCON COURT (J056): Shortly after the start was bumped by ALL EYES ON ME and then was steadied when racing tight to the inside of SONIC BOOM. SONIC BOOM (H144): After the event M L Yeung reported that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and this was the reason for its disappointing performance. DOUBLE BINGO (J309): Near the 300 Metres raced in restricted room between GUSTY FIGHTER and SONIC BOOM which shifted in slightly. Noted to have sustained a minor laceration to its left hind leg. FLYING PHANTOM (J086): Making the turn after the 600 Metres was bumped by TAIHANG SCENERY and became unbalanced when taken wider by TAIHANG SCENERY which shifted out when racing keenly.

SMART FIGHTER (H278): After the event L Ferraris stated that he was obliged to make some use of his mount in the early stages to go forward. He said the horse, which was having its first race start on the All Weather Track, may not appreciate racing on this surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SPEEDY TRIDENT (K230): Jumped only fairly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race. SIGHT HAPPY (J261): After the event B Avdulla advised that he was instructed to take up a forward position. MAGNIAC (H141): After the race an endoscopic examination was conducted on MAGNIAC at the request of Trainer T P Yung. After the event M L Yeung stated that his mount, which was having its first race start on the All Weather Track, did not appreciate racing on this surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. YEE CHEONG RAIDER (J176): After the event A Atzeni reported that his mount raced "flat” today. SUNNY DARLING (J171): Jumped awkwardly, made heavy contact with the left side of its barrier and as a result lost ground. After the event K De Melo stated that after losing ground at the start his mount settled further back in the field and was unable to make up ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. SMART BEAUTY (G477): Shifted out at the start and was bumped. For a short distance after the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of BEAUTIFUL WIN. SMASHING EXPRESS (J252): Shortly after the start became unbalanced and lost ground when crowded between APOLAR FIGHTER and SMART BEAUTY which shifted out and away from CELTIC TIMES. FAMILY FORTUNE (H447): After the event L Ferraris reported that the instructions were to hold a midfield position. He said with the pace of the event easing in the middle stages he shifted his mount out near the 1000 Metres when being steadied to avoid CELTIC TIMES. He said as a result his mount was obliged to race very wide and without cover thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. THE WAY WE WIN (J493): After the event H Bentley reported that he was given the option of taking up a forward position. He said when his mount commenced well he elected to continue forward to comply with the instructions issued. Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued such instructions as he felt it was advantageous to race on-pace with the rail in the C+3 position. PERFECT PEACH (E488): Between the 450 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind BEAUTIFUL WIN. After the 200 Metres PERFECT PEACH then endeavoured to obtain a run between BEAUTIFUL WIN and SMART BEAUTY where it was steadied when disappointed for clear running near the 150 Metres. As a result PERFECT PEACH did not obtain clear running until after being shifted to the outside of SMART BEAUTY leaving the 100 Metres. HARRY'S HERO (H332): Jumped only fairly. Near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid SMASHING EXPRESS. Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres. FIRE BALL (D087): After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong expressed concern with his mount’s action over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MEDIC ELITE (G129): No report.

LUCKY SYMPHONY (J089): No report. AEROVOLANIC (K400): After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that soon after the start his mount blundered and as a result settled towards the rear of the field. He said throughout the early and middle stages his mount did not travel comfortably and did not respond to his riding to attempt to hold a more forward position. He added on entering the Home Straight when he was concerned there may be something amiss with AEROVOLANIC when it again blundered, he then retired the horse from the event. Trainer P C Ng stated that the horse had pleased him during the lead-up to today’s race and he expected it to perform well. He said, in his opinion, the horse blundering soon after the start was the reason as to why its action may not have appeared to be right during the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of AEROVOLANIC was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AEROVOLANIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039): Near the 200 Metres was steadied when placed in restricted room between SOMELOVEFROMABOVE and JOYFUL TREASURE, both of which shifted ground. Approaching the 200 Metres JUICY DRAGON then could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to JOYFUL TREASURE. After being shifted to the inside of JOYFUL TREASURE near the 150 Metres JUICY DRAGON again could not be ridden out over the concluding stages when positioned close to PATCH OF TIME. He said in the Home Straight MASTEROFMYUNIVERSE finished the race off fairly but he was not too disappointed with its performance given that it was required to make up ground from back in the field. Y L Chung (SELF IMPROVEMENT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 100 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of COLOURFUL KING, resulting in COLOURFUL KING being checked to avoid SELF IMPROVEMENT. In accordance with previous practices, Y L Chung was fined the sum of $35,000 in lieu of a one-day suspension. BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334): Over the concluding stages made contact with PATCH OF STARS when that runner shifted in whilst being ridden along. When questioned regarding the horse racing in a more forward position Y L Chung stated that with the horse stepping up in distance and carrying blinkers for the second occasion, he was instructed to ride his mount in a forward position, particularly in circumstances where there did not appear to be strong pace in the event.
