GOLD STRIKER was withdrawn on 13.12.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetance). Before being allowed to race again, GOLD STRIKER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Shortly after the start, SUNNY KING was crowded for room between DOWN TOWN and SKYVIEW BAR. In the early stages, SKYVIEW BAR hung in. At the 1100 Metres, POCKET MONEY, which was being ridden to remain racing away from the rail, became unbalanced and lost ground while racing tight inside MY CHOICE which shifted in slightly. In the circumstances, no action was taken. After the 600 Metres, SUNNY KING was bumped by GALLANT LION which was endeavouring to shift out. In the run to the line, SUNNY KING got its head on the side, hung in and raced tight outside GALLANT LION. Throughout the race, MASTER POWER travelled wide and without cover. POCKET MONEY and SUNNY KING were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that POCKET MONEY had bled from both nostrils.
