EAST RIDER was slow into stride. Near the 300 Metres, STAY YOUNG was steadied when crowded for room between CRYSTAL and STAR LEGEND (B Prebble) which shifted out to obtain clear running. B Prebble was told to exercise care. For the major part of the race, CRYSTAL and GALACTIC TACTIC travelled wide and without cover. STAY YOUNG was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, STAY YOUNG was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had sustained a minor cut to its right front pastern. MASTER RIO and COOL CAT were sent for sampling.
