SOU MA TAM began awkwardly. Rounding the first turn, K-JACK was steadied away from the heels of SOU MA TAM which shifted out. NATURAL FLAME, which was racing outside of K-JACK, was hampered in consequence. Approaching the 600 Metres, SUPER SPIRIT became unbalanced. Near the 200 Metres, ELITE SIXTY-SIX and SOU MA TAM bumped. Near the 100 Metres, GILDED FLIGHT, which was weakening, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of NATURAL FLAME. Throughout the race, GILDED FLIGHT travelled wide and without cover. B Prebble (GLENEALY ELITE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that over the concluding stages he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount from shifting inwards, resulting in YUE LU TREASURE being taken in across the rightful running of NATURAL FLAME, causing that horse to be checked when crowded for room between YUE LU TREASURE and SOU MA TAM. B Prebble was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday 5 November 2009 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Sunday 25 October 2009. ELITE SIXTY-SIX, GLENEALY ELITE and SOU MA TAM were sent for sampling.
