KINGSTON ELITE was withdrawn on 13.5.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (colic) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter LUCKY NINE. Before being allowed to race again, KINGSTON ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Apprentice M L Yeung, the rider of WIN WIN FELLOWSHIP, reported his saddle shifted back at the start, placing him at a disadvantage throughout the race. FUN AND FAST was slow to begin. At the 1000 Metres, HAWTHORNE was steadied away from the heels of JUN DAO which shifted in when barely clear. Near the 800 Metres, FAST INTENTIONS was crowded for room and TOP NEWS checked away from the heels of HAWTHORNE which at this time was taken in slightly by LET ME FIGHT (W C Marwing) which, after being taken out by JUN DAO, shifted back in. W C Marwing was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. Near the 700 Metres, FAST INTENTIONS was again crowded for room inside TOP NEWS which itself was checked away from the heels of HAWTHORNE which at this time was bumped by LET ME FIGHT. Rounding the Home Turn, WIN WIN FELLOWSHIP shifted ground outwards and ran wide and in the Straight was eased down. A veterinary inspection of FOREST STAR after the race did not show any significant findings. SEEK N’ DESTROY, LUCKY NINE and LET ME FIGHT were sent for sampling.
