VERY WELL was slow to begin. Near the 900 Metres, VERY WELL got its head on the side and shifted out across the heels of SUNNY FAY. After this, VERY WELL was steadied away from the heels of SUNNY FAY. After being shifted towards the outside of the heels of SURFER BOY (Y T Cheng) at the 200 Metres, SUNNY FAY (D Beadman) was held up and taken wider when SURFER BOY shifted out under pressure. D Beadman reported that after this SUNNY FAY hung in badly and for this reason he changed the whip over from his left hand to his right hand. Y T Cheng was advised in future he should make more endeavour than he did on this occasion to keep his mounts on a straight course. Throughout the race, FATBOY SUGAR hung out badly when travelling wide and without cover. Before being allowed to race again, FATBOY SUGAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SUPER CARDED had bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of TRUE VALOUR after the race revealed that the horse was a “roarer” which had previously been reported. JADE MOLLY and SUNNY FAY were sent for sampling.
