A FEW GOOD MEN began awkwardly. AMBITIOUS OWNER was slow to begin. NOTUS shifted in at the start and bumped FASTALOT which became unbalanced. After this, NOTUS was taken across behind runners. For some distance after the 1000 Metres, BLOSSOM DAILY got its head up and proved very difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HINYUEN PALADIN. BLOSSOM DAILY continued to prove very difficult to settle and after the 700 Metres got its head on the side and hung out towards the heels of SHIBALA, resulting in MY BEST CHOICE being hampered and taken out onto the hindquarters of DELISH which became unbalanced. BLOSSOM DAILY then continued to hang out and lose ground until shortly after straightening. The performance of BLOSSOM DAILY was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BLOSSOM DAILY will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. Near the 900 Metres, M’S MAGIC raced ungenerously and shifted ground when being checked away from the heels of DELISH. Making the turn near the 800 Metres, MY BEST CHOICE was steadied away from the heels of SHIBALA. After the 800 Metres, M’S MAGIC was steadied away from the heels of HAPPY FOREVER. A FEW GOOD MEN, which was following and proving difficult to settle, was steadied in consequence. Rounding the Home Turn, A FEW GOOD MEN was taken wider when bumped by SERENDIPITY which shifted out to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, DELISH and METREVELLI travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that DELISH had lost its left hind plate. HINYUEN PALADIN and TRUE VALOUR were sent for sampling.
