ALL VICTORY was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial amount of mucopus on scoping after track work). Before being allowed to race again, ALL VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. As the start was effected, SMART KIDS lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin. OWAIN and DARPANA were slow to begin. Approaching the 700 Metres, DARPANA was checked when crowded for room inside FORTUNE GENERAL which got its head on the side and shifted in after initially being taken in by GLOBAL WIN which itself shifted in when awkwardly placed inside the heels of HAR HAR CHARMS. No further action was taken. GLOBAL WIN got its head on the side and hung out in the middle stages. SMART KIDS was badly held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn and continued to be badly held up for clear running until approaching the 200 Metres. Throughout the race, HAR HAR CHARMS and QUANTUM EXPRESS travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SKY MASCOT had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of SMART KIDS after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SMART KIDS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on OWAIN at the request of Trainer A Schutz. The Veterinary Officer said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
