BILLION and GOLDEN BOY bumped at the start. Shortly after the start, ALP’S GLORY was checked when crowded for room between BUMPER STRIKE which shifted in and LONGWAH KID which was taken out by EAST OCEAN. From wide barriers, INDUSTRIAL HERO, NORDIC STAR and EAGLE SPIRIT were all taken across behind runners shortly after the start. At the entrance to the Straight, ALP’S GLORY was steadied out away from the heels of NORDIC STAR which, when being shifted to the outside of INDUSTRIAL HERO, was taken wider by that horse which itself was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SURVEY SURVEY. Near the 150 Metres, EAGLE SPIRIT was checked when disappointed for running between COMPACT YARN and INDUSTRIAL HERO. Throughout the race, GOLDEN BOY travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of BUMPER STRIKE after the race did not show any significant findings. LONGWAH KID, NORDIC STAR and BILLION were sent for sampling.
