TOPSPIN EXPRESS was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, TOPSPIN EXPRESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. BOLERO was slow to begin. PRETTY BLUEBERRY began awkwardly, shifted out and in doing so made heavy contact with the hindquarters of APOLLO CAVALIER, resulting in PRETTY BLUEBERRY losing ground. From a wide barrier, LOVELY BOY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start and then travelled wide and without cover for the majority of the race. TOPSPIN EXPRESS travelled wide and without cover until after the 600 Metres. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, PRETTY BLUEBERRY shifted out across the heels of JUMBO GOLD, resulting in SAMMY’S FALCON being crowded for room out onto BOLERO. Passing the 500 Metres and rounding the Home Turn, CAPE CANAVERAL and KICK SERVE raced tight as KICK SERVE shifted out to obtain clear running. Near the 50 Metres, C K Tong (APOLLO CAVALIER) dropped his whip. A veterinary inspection of SMART KIDS after the race did not show any significant findings. CAPE CANAVERAL, JUMBO GOLD and KICK SERVE were sent for sampling.
