LOTUS LOVE began awkwardly and then became unbalanced after bumping heavily with ISLAND SPRING. FIERCE FORCE was slow to begin. Near the 100 Metres, FIRST CLASS was steadied away from the heels of GREY WHIZZ which shifted in after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of MEGABUCKS. Also near the 100 Metres, LOTUS LOVE was shifted in after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of FASTALOT. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of M L Yeung (YOUNG SUPREME,) 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where circumstances permit. A veterinary inspection of METRO RIDER after the race did not show any significant findings. WELL FIT and ISLAND SPRING were sent for sampling.
