ATACX was checked at the start when crowded for room between DYNAMIC VOYAGE which shifted out after beginning awkwardly and BULLISH FRIEND which shifted in. ROYAL PARTNER began very awkwardly, shifted in and bumped LUCKY WARRIOR which was crowded for room outside SMART MAN. From the outside barrier, HAPPY FOREVER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. In the early stages, SMART MAN proved difficult to settle and near the 1000 Metres was taken wider by DYNAMIC VOYAGE which shifted out. After the 1000 Metres, BULLISH FRIEND was shifted out to relieve a momentary tightening to MR GINGER which was being aggressively ridden to maintain a position inside BULLISH FRIEND. As a result of BULLISH FRIEND shifting out, SEA DRAGON was hampered and taken wider. DYNAMIC VOYAGE, which was following SEA DRAGON, was hampered in consequence. Near the 900 Metres, MR GINGER was then momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of BULLISH FRIEND which shifted in to assume the lead. Making the turn after the 900 Metres, DYNAMIC VOYAGE got its head on the side and hung out. After this, DYNAMIC VOYAGE travelled wide and without cover. Near the 700 Metres, ENGROSSING proved difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MR GINGER. MR GINGER had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 200 Metres, ROYAL PARTNER got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure. SEA DRAGON and BULLISH FRIEND were sent for sampling.
