PLAIN RED BANNER shifted out at the start and bumped VICTORY IDE SAY and in doing so became unbalanced and knuckled over. After this, PLAIN RED BANNER was vigorously ridden along to obtain a more forward position, however, failed to muster speed. From wide barriers, MAGNUMOUS and LORD DRAGON were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after entering the Straight, VICTORY IDE SAY was shifted to the inside of TRAVEL GUIDE when disappointed for running between that horse and DRAGON BACHELOR. Throughout the race, TRIUMPHANT WAY travelled wide and without cover. After the race, Z Purton reported that TRAVEL GUIDE was making an abnormal respiratory noise from the 800 Metres. A veterinary inspection of TRAVEL GUIDE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FLYING ELITE had lost its left front plate. Also after the race, T Angland stated that LORD DRAGON lay out throughout the race, failed to respond when placed under pressure and, in his opinion, raced “flat”. A veterinary inspection of LORD DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of FAY DEEP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. PLAIN RED BANNER, BEAUTY KING and RIYADH were sent for sampling.
