MEGABUCKS began only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of FORZA which shifted out. PURE VICTORY shifted in at the start and bumped DRAGON CHOICE which became unbalanced. Shortly after the start, SUPER BROTHER became unbalanced after being bumped by TAKE THE RAP. KA WAI FORTUNE had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and passing the 200 Metres momentarily raced in restricted room between SUPER BROTHER and TAKE THE RAP. Over the concluding stages, TAKE THE RAP was steadied away from the heels of KA WAI FORTUNE (Apprentice C Y Lui) which shifted out. Apprentice Lui was advised to exercise more care in future. Also over the concluding stages, BEAR SUPREME shifted in towards the heels of INFINITE COURAGE. Because of this, BEAR SUPREME was not able to be ridden out right to the end of the race. After the race, O Doleuze (DRAGON CHOICE) said the horse did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race and was most disappointing. A veterinary inspection of DRAGON CHOICE immediately following the race revealed the horse to be a “roarer” which had previously been reported. Also after the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SUPER BROTHER had bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of PURE VICTORY immediately following the race revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of FIERY RAIDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FORZA and SUPER BROTHER were sent for sampling.
