As the start was effected, FINAL ANSWER became fractious, reared and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, FINAL ANSWER will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. Approaching the 1000 Metres, LUCKY NINE was steadied when crowded for room between JOY AND FUN and ADMIRATION (N Callan) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. N Callan was advised to exercise care. After the 1000 Metres, JOY AND FUN proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions and after the 900 Metres was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 250 Metres, TIME AFTER TIME was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CERISE CHERRY after being taken in by ADMIRATION which got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure. After the 250 Metres, CERISE CHERRY got its head on the side and hung in and in doing so raced tight outside CAPTAIN SWEET for some distance near the 150 Metres. A veterinary inspection of BEST ELEVEN after the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY NINE and FREDERICK ENGELS were sent for sampling.
