CONNOISSEUR’S PICK was also withdrawn on 20.12.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, GLORIOUS RYDER and CONNOISSEUR’S PICK will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. As the start was effected, ADMIRAL LORD lifted its front feet off the ground and began only fairly. ALPINEFIELD and GREEN MANNER were crowded for room at the start between CIRCUIT STAR and RED DANCER, both of which shifted ground. Approaching the 1400 Metres, CIRCUIT STAR was momentarily crowded for room inside RED DANCER which was taken in by SUN PINS. For some distance after the 1100 Metres, AXIOM was ridden along to maintain its position behind RED DANCER, however, failed to hold its position which resulted in CIRCUIT STAR being able to shift in in front of AXIOM. APPROVE and RED DANCER were sent for sampling.
