DALWARI, which was slow to begin, was bumped shortly after the start by FREE JUDGEMENT which was taken out by EAGLE POWER. From wide barriers, FORMULA WON and SILVER GRECIAN were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1300 Metres, RACING HERO got its head up when being checked away from the heels of BRIGHT STRIKE. DR GOOD HABIT lost its right front plate after the 1300 Metres. Throughout the race, TODOS CON SUERTE travelled wide and without cover. The performance of BRIGHT STRIKE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BRIGHT STRIKE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of MAJESTIC ANTHEM, D Whyte stated that his mount travelled only fairly after being shifted across in the early stages to obtain a position slightly behind midfield. He said he had to ride MAJESTIC ANTHEM along at various stages during the race in an attempt to have it travel better. He said however that MAJESTIC ANTHEM came under considerable pressure after the 600 Metres and did not respond to his riding rounding the Home Turn as he thought it would. He said this allowed SILVER GRECIAN to improve its position around MAJESTIC ANTHEM rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight. He added whilst MAJESTIC ANTHEM momentarily raced in restricted room between SILVER GRECIAN and DALWARI after the 300 Metres, MAJESTIC ANTHEM was under pressure at this stage to maintain its position and after SILVER GRECIAN improved forward of MAJESTIC ANTHEM, his mount finished off the race only fairly thereafter. A veterinary inspection of MAJESTIC ANTHEM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Apprentice K C Ng (FLYING ELITE) stated that his mount came under pressure after the 1000 Metres and weakened badly thereafter. He said FLYING ELITE, which was having its first start on the All Weather surface, did not feel comfortable in its action and he felt that something may have gone amiss with the horse. A veterinary inspection of FLYING ELITE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of FLYING ELITE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FLYING ELITE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, K C Leung (RACING HERO) reported that his mount felt short in its action in the latter part of the race. A veterinary inspection of RACING HERO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Also after the race, T H So (SMILING WATCH) reported that his mount weakened badly after having considerable use made of it in the early stages in an attempt to obtain a forward position from its wide barrier. A veterinary inspection of SMILING WATCH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. The performance of SMILING WATCH, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SMILING WATCH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of DALWARI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MAJESTIC ANTHEM, EAGLE POWER and FORMULA WON were sent for sampling.
