MOBILE KING, which was leaning on the outside of its stall, was slow to begin. ALL MY BENEFIT and RED ADVENTURE began awkwardly. From the outside barrier, HEAR THE ROAR was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Despite being ridden along, INFINITE COURAGE, which began only fairly, failed to muster speed and was consequently shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 1100 Metres, RED ADVENTURE got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BRILLIANT LIGHT. In the early stages, GLAMOROUS RYDER was left racing wide and without cover and after the 1100 Metres was allowed to stride forward to race outside the lead. At the 1000 Metres, INFINITE COURAGE was checked away from the heels of ALL MY BENEFIT which was awkwardly placed behind DARK SECRET. Near the 900 Metres, OPTIMIZATION STAR was left racing wide and without cover. Approaching the 600 Metres, HEAR THE ROAR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALL MY BENEFIT. Approaching the 100 Metres, GLAMOROUS RYDER was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of MOBILE KING which shifted in. Passing the 50 Metres, RED ADVENTURE became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by MOBILE KING which shifted away from the heels of WINNING ADVANTAGE after being awkwardly placed near the heels of that horse. For the major part of the Straight, MOBILE KING was unable to obtain clear running and because of this was not able to be properly tested. REAL GENERAL and ORIENTAL FANTASIA were sent for sampling.
