After being loaded, LOVE SHOCK reared on a number of occasions. Before being allowed to race again, LOVE SHOCK will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. FAVOURITISM, which was leaning on the inside of its barrier, began awkwardly and lost ground. DIAMOND DRAGON was slow to begin. BRING IT ON and CAPE THE FAITH began only fairly. SHAMAL began only fairly and then was ridden along in the early stages to take up a forward position. Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, DIAMOND DRAGON was checked and lost ground after shifting out abruptly across the heels of BRING IT ON. When DIAMOND DRAGON shifted out, FAVOURITISM was severely hampered and taken very wide. The racing manners of DIAMOND DRAGON were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DIAMOND DRAGON will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial around a bend. Passing the 300 Metres, SHAMAL raced in restricted room between MULTIMAX and ORIONIDS which lay in. Approaching the 200 Metres, ROUNDABOUT was shifted out to obtain clear running. N Rawiller, the rider of FAVOURITISM, was advised to ensure that he rides his mounts out with sufficient vigour irrespective of whether they are able to run in the placings. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of S de Sousa (DIAMOND KING), 3rd placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels all the way to the end of the race where circumstances permit. A veterinary inspection of FAVOURITISM and MULTIMAX immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. JING JING WIN and STARSHIP were sent for sampling.
