Steward Report Predict Pace Map
GOLD LAND and UNICRON JEWELLERY bumped heavily at the start due to both horses shifting ground. UNICRON JEWELLERY then became unbalanced after making contact with GOLD LAND, resulting in the horse shifting out further and GOLD LAND losing ground. After this, GOLD LAND was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed and consequently raced towards the rear of the field. Shortly after the start, AGREE was steadied away from the heels of RELENTLESS ME which shifted in. After travelling a short distance, Apprentice H N Wong’s (GO GO WIN) right foot slipped out of the stirrup iron. Apprentice Wong was then unable to regain the use of his right iron for the remainder of the event, placing him at a significant disadvantage. Apprentice Wong explained that he made a number of attempts to regain the use of his right iron, however, was unable to do so. He said he did give consideration to taking his right hand off the reins in an attempt to regain control of the iron, however, GO GO WIN was travelling strongly and he felt that had he have taken his hand away from the reins, he may have lost some control of the horse and therefore he continued to try and regain the use of the iron by other means without success. Near the 1150 Metres, THUNDER STOMP got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of ULTIMATE GLORY. UNICRON JEWELLERY was held up for a run in the early part of the Straight and passing the 250 Metres was checked away from the heels of GOLDEN SLEEP and shifted to the inside of that horse in an attempt to obtain clear running. Passing the 300 Metres, FLYING QUEST got its head on the side and lay in, resulting in NITRO EXPRESS being hampered when racing tight to the inside of that horse. From passing the 300 Metres until near the 200 Metres, RELENTLESS ME was unable to obtain clear running between AGREE and GO GO WIN. For the majority of the race, GOLDEN SLEEP travelled wide and without cover. After the race, O Doleuze stated that at its first attempt at the distance, JUMBO HAPPINESS, after being shifted across behind runners in the early stages from its awkward barrier, travelled only fairly and then did not finish off the race over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of JUMBO HAPPINESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of GOLD LAND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. THUNDER STOMP and FULL GLAMOUR were sent for sampling. <30/10/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>JUMBO HAPPINESS, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. JUMBO HAPPINESS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C Fownes this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, JUMBO HAPPINESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
