GOLDIE FLANKER was crowded for room on jumping between FLYING GODSPELL and LUCKY COIN which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. LOGAN ONE shifted in at the start and bumped BUNDLE OF ENERGY. Shortly after the start, AMAZING RACE shifted out and bumped MY HONEY. After being bumped on the hindquarters by LUCKY COIN a short distance after the start, BUNDLE OF ENERGY became unbalanced and shifted out, resulting in LOGAN ONE being steadied away from the heels of MOST BEAUTIFUL. Passing the 250 Metres, LUCKY COIN was directed to the outside of ELITE SPIRIT to obtain clear running. Approaching and passing the 100 Metres, MY HONEY was checked away from the heels of MOST BEAUTIFUL which was giving ground. Throughout the race, GIDDY GIDDY travelled wide and without cover. The performance of LOGAN ONE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LOGAN ONE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of LOGAN ONE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, Z Purton stated that he had to make a considerable amount of use of MOST BEAUTIFUL to obtain a forward position as instructed. He said because of this MOST BEAUTIFUL was not fully balanced and, in his opinion, the horse’s failure to finish off the race was attributable to him having to ride it along for a considerable distance in the early stages. A veterinary inspection of MOST BEAUTIFUL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of AMAZING RACE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING RACE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. AMAZING RACE, GOLDIE FLANKER and GIDDY GIDDY were sent for sampling. <3/5/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>AMAZING RACE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in its trachea. AMAZING RACE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C Fownes this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, AMAZING RACE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
