BIG BROOK was withdrawn on 2.2.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter AGILITY STAR (M F Poon). STRATHMORETOO was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, BIG BROOK and STRATHMORETOO will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
AGILITY STAR shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of ROBOT WARRIOR.
STAR OF GLORY was crowded for room shortly after the start between MISTER MONTE and AMAZING TEENS which began awkwardly and shifted out.
FLYING MIGHTY and CHAMPION PAL bumped on jumping. After this, despite being ridden along, CHAMPION PAL failed to muster speed.
From the outside barriers, NATURAL STORM, STIMULATION and NEW FUTURE were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
MISTER MONTE travelled wide and without cover until passing the 1100 Metres at which time LEGION OF MERIT was left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching the 900 Metres, FLYING MIGHTY shifted in and bumped VICTORIOUS SEEKER.
Near the 350 Metres, ROBOT WARRIOR shifted out and brushed MISTER MONTE.
Passing the 250 Metres, STAR OF GLORY got its head on the side and shifted out. STAR OF GLORY again lay out after the 200 Metres, resulting in FLYING MIGHTY being shifted out away from the heels of that horse and bumping CHAMPION PAL.
A veterinary inspection of AMAZING TEENS, LEGION OF MERIT and MISTER MONTE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SUPER HONG KONG and ROBOT WARRIOR were sent for sampling.
