On jumping, MAJESTIC KNIGHT and LUCKY EIGHT were crowded for room between CALIFORNIA CIBLE and REWARD SMILE which shifted out. In this incident, CALIFORNIA CIBLE was bumped by LUCKY EIGHT, became unbalanced and then was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. SMART IDEA jumped only fairly. PRIME MORTAR jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. From a wide barrier, GOODBAN BANBANBANG was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 800 Metres, REWARD SMILE was steadied when momentarily crowded by LUCKY EIGHT (H Bowman) which shifted in before being corrected. H Bowman was reprimanded. Approaching the 250 Metres, LUCKY EIGHT improved into a narrow run between MAJESTIC KNIGHT and VICTORY SCHOLARS and as a result made contact with VICTORY SCHOLARS. After being taken out slightly by MAJESTIC KNIGHT near the 150 Metres, LUCKY EIGHT then shifted out and away from that runner and again made contact with VICTORY SCHOLARS. C Y Ho (BRAVE STAR) was reminded of his obligation to ensure that he rides his mounts out to the finish of the event. After the race, C Y Ho reported that, in his opinion, BRAVE STAR would derive fitness benefit from tonight’s performance. A veterinary inspection of BRAVE STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of SMART IDEA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. REWARD SMILE and ARMOUR EAGLE were sent for sampling.
