GOLDEN LONG (H462): Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Sent for sampling post-race. RIDING HIGH (J403): After the event, B Avdulla reported that his mount lacked concentration and he recommended to connections that RIDING HIGH would benefit with the addition of blinkers. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SHANGHAI STYLE (J093): Sent for sampling post-race. EURO ROCKS (H153): On jumping was crowded by DAILY TROPHY which shifted out. M L Yeung was warned for using his whip on a number of occasions in the Home Straight where his whip arm was raised above shoulder height. OFFROAD MASTER (J283): Sent for sampling post-race. ROBOT KNIGHT (H464): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. DRAGON AIR FORCE (J279): In the early stages raced keenly and near the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from ROBOT KNIGHT. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, Z Purton stated that near the 200 Metres he attempted to shift to the outside of ROBOT KNIGHT to secure clear running, however, his mount did not respond to his efforts and was reluctant to shift out. He said as a result he then elected to shift in to obtain clear running between ROBOT KNIGHT and GOLDEN LONG, however, when those runners shifted ground, DRAGON AIR FORCE was then held up for clear running until passing the 50 Metres where it shifted to the outside of GOLDEN LONG. After considering his explanation, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Purton were reasonable in the circumstances. JOLLY COMPANION (H454): When questioned, C Y Ho stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position. He said JOLLY COMPANION jumped only fairly from the outside barrier and did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to go forward. He added when unable to obtain cover on his mount in the early stages JOLLY COMPANION was obliged to race very wide and without cover throughout the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. Trainer K L Man confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DAILY TROPHY (H283): Near the 200 Metres was eased when crowded between SMART LEADER and DRAGON AIR FORCE which shifted to the inside of ROBOT KNIGHT. SOLAR UP (J134): After the event, M F Poon reported that his mount raced keenly and lay out on the first turn near the 800 Metres which resulted in it being awkwardly placed close to SHANGHAI STYLE. LIFE OF STONE (J374): In the early stages raced keenly and approaching the first turn near the 800 Metres was steadied away from EURO ROCKS. SMART LEADER (B456): A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
