GALVANIC (H147): After being crossed by WAH MAY WAI WAI near the 1300 Metres commenced to race keenly and was shifted to the outside of WAH MAY WAI WAI to avoid that runner’s heels. After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount raced too keenly in the early stages and as a consequence was left without a finishing effort. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. NORTHERN BEAST (H233): Held up for clear running for a short distance after the 400 Metres. SURE JOYFUL (G125): Sent for sampling post-race. DEVILDOM (H445): Shortly after the start was crowded by APOLAR FIGHTER which shifted in slightly. WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193): No report. KIMBERLEY (H329): After the 300 Metres made contact with APOLAR FIGHTER when it was attempting a tight run to the outside of SURE JOYFUL. Noted to have been galloped on the left hind cannon after the race. After the event, an endoscopic examination was conducted on KIMBERLEY at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, KIMBERLEY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. APOLAR FIGHTER (J169): Noted to have sustained a minor abrasion to the right hock, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start. Raced wide and without cover until the 700 Metres. Bumped after the 300 Metres. TO INFINITY (G277): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. SMILING EMPEROR (J371): Shifted in at the start and was bumped. PRINCE ALEX (G307): Raced wide and without cover from the 700 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race. GALLANT CROWN (D359): Taken wider after the 1300 Metres. After the event, K Teetan stated that his mount did not travel well during the running of the race and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LORD OF THE ROSE (J297): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. POCHETTINO (J149): POCHETTINO, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 5.11.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity). Before being allowed to race again, POCHETTINO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
