YOUNG SUPERSTAR (J400): Sent for sampling post-race.
LADY'S CHOICE (H155): Sent for sampling post-race.
LUCKY EIGHT (G204): C L Chau was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 450 Metres (see ALSONSO).
RIDING TOGETHER (K081): Crowded making the Home Turn. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
ALSONSO (J405): Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was bumped by DASHING DRAGON which shifted in. C L Chau (LUCKY EIGHT) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 450 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when there was insufficient room for runners to his inside, resulting in RIDING TOGETHER being taken in and crowding the running of ALSONSO, resulting in ALSONSO losing its running and being checked. C L Chau was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 12 February 2025 and to expire on Monday, 17 February 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, Jockey Chau was fined $25,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his neutral race riding record. After the event, L Ferraris reported that after receiving interference on the Home Turn his mount was unable to finish the race off thereafter, however, made a respiratory noise towards the finish of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SUGAR BALL (H394): Near the 400 Metres attempted to obtain a run between BUNTA BABY and AURORA PATCH and was checked when disappointed for this run. Was then held up for clear running until near the 300 Metres.
AURORA PATCH (K097): Near the 400 Metres became badly unbalanced when crowded between MAGNIFICENT NINE and SUGAR BALL (K C Leung) which shifted to the outside of BUNTA BABY where there was not sufficient room to do so. K C Leung was severely reprimanded.
GREAT STATE (J124): After the 200 Metres lay out before being corrected by its rider.
BUNTA BABY (J465): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
GOKO WIN (H069): Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race.
KARATE EXPRESS (J306): Shifted in at the start and was bumped and shortly after raced tight to the inside of MAGNIFICENT NINE. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.
MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433): Near the 400 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters and became badly unbalanced.
DASHING DRAGON (J464): Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.
