HAYDAY (H321): M F Poon was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference making the first turn near the 1000 Metres (see SOLAR RIVER). Sent for sampling post-race. SWEET BRIAR (H044): Jumped awkwardly. SWAGGER BRO (K089): On jumping was bumped by RUN YES RUN. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. GREAT SPIRIT (J155): Shortly after the start was crowded by SWEET BRIAR. Approaching the 200 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of SWEET BRIAR to continue into clear running. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. TACTICAL COMMAND (H197): In the early stages got its head up and raced ungenerously when being shifted across behind runners. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of A Badel, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race. BEAUTY THUNDER (J299): Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind GLORY B. GLORY B (H373): Sent for sampling post-race. JUDY'S GREAT (J016): On jumping was bumped by GREAT SPIRIT and became unbalanced. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. RUN YES RUN (J264): No report. SOLAR RIVER (J308): Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Bumped at the start. M F Poon (HAYDAY) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that making the first turn near the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of SOLAR RIVER, resulting in SOLAR RIVER having to be checked to avoid HAYDAY. M F Poon was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 28 May 2025 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. VULCANUS (J150): Bumped at the start. Steadied to avoid SOLAR RIVER making the first turn. Sent for sampling post-race. MY FLYING ANGEL (J174): No report.
