CHATEAUNEUF (J219): Shortly after the start was checked when crowded by FATAL BLOW which shifted out abruptly when being corrected by its rider. After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount settled further back in the field after being checked at the start. He said in the Home Straight CHATEAUNEUF ran on only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. WINGS OF WAR (H162): Crowded shortly after the start. HAYDAY (H321): Near the 200 Metres was eased when racing tight between SKY CAP and EVERSTAR which shifted in and away from NORDIC DRAGON. KING MILES (J158): Crowded shortly after the start. After the event Z Purton stated that from a wide barrier his mount settled further back in the field in the early stages to avoid racing wide. He said in the Home Straight KING MILES found it difficult to make up ground from back in the field. Trainer K W Lui stated that Jockey Purton was given the option to hold a more forward position but KING MILES did not show sufficient pace to do so and agreed that the horse was disadvantaged by settling back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of KING MILES was considered disappointing as comparted to its previous race starts . Before being allowed to race again, KING MILES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. NORDIC DRAGON (G467): Sent for sampling post-race. FATAL BLOW (J484): Shifted out abruptly at the start, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. LOOKING BRIGHT (K315): Knuckled on jumping, shifted in and made contact with EVERSTAR. Approaching the 50 Metres A Badel had his whip knocked from his grasp by the whip of K C Leung, the rider of VERY GRATEFUL. VERY GRATEFUL (K396): Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was bumped by SKY CAP which shifted in. EVERSTAR (K264): Bumped at the start. GOLDEN RISE (H242): Shortly after the start was bumped by KING MILES. SOVEREIGN FUND (J402): Crowded shortly after the start. Sent for sampling post-race. SKY CAP (K125): Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Near the 150 Metres rider M L Yeung dropped his whip. Over the final 100 Metres raced tight between LOOKING BRIGHT and EVERSTAR which shifted in and away from NORDIC DRAGON.
