GANBARIA shifted in at the start, resulting in GRANDFIELD being crowded for room when taken in onto the hindquarters of BE MY SONG. In this incident, BE MY SONG became unbalanced, resulting in its rider, Apprentice M L Yeung, becoming awkward in the saddle. When BE MY SONG became unbalanced, it shifted in, resulting in SHI SHAN being crowded for room. Making the first turn, ORIENTAL COURSER checked of its own accord when reluctant to remain racing to the inside of FLYING COLOURS. GLENEALY VIKING hung out in the middle stages. GRANDFIELD hung out rounding the Home Turn. For a short distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, GRANDFIELD had difficulty obtaining clear running between WINBO and ACE OF SPADES which shifted out. Throughout the race, GANBARIA travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of FAST WINNER after the race revealed that the horse was lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FAST WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FLYING COLOURS and BE MY SONG were sent for sampling.
