On the way to the barriers, BRILLIANT CHAPTER lost its left front plate. The horse was replated behind the barriers and after the necessary consultations was found suitable to race. B Doyle (JOY AND FUN) reported that his saddle shifted back on jumping, placing him at a significant disadvantage for the remainder of the race. He said because of this he was not able to ride JOY AND FUN competitively in the race. ONE WORLD jumped out at the start, resulting in ARMADA being taken out across the running of BRILLIANT CHAPTER. When being restrained to shift in across behind runners after beginning from the outside barrier, KILDARE proved very difficult to settle and raced ungenerously for some distance approaching the first turn. Near the 900 Metres, YELLOW DIAMOND was steadied to allow DIM SUM to cross. MEDIC POWER, which was following, was checked away from the heels of that horse and in turn SUNNY KING, which was following MEDIC POWER, was steadied and shifted out. When SUNNY KING shifted out, ARMADA was hampered in consequence. ONE WORLD got its head up making the first turn. Near the 800 Metres, SUNNY POWER got its head up when being checked away from the heels of INSPIRATION. SUNNY POWER then shifted out, resulting in ONE WORLD being inconvenienced. Near the 600 Metres, ARMADA shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUNNY KING. At the same stage, ONE WORLD got its head up and shifted out slightly. For some distance rounding the Home Turn, SUNNY POWER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of INSPIRATION. Near the 250 Metres, KILDARE was steadied away from the heels of ABLE ONE which shifted in. Over the final 100 Metres, MEDIC POWER raced in restricted room between SUNNY KING and YELLOW DIAMOND, both of which shifted some ground. A veterinary inspection of JOY AND FUN and ARMADA after the race did not show any significant findings. MEDIC POWER, INSPIRATION and ONE WORLD were sent for sampling.
