12 FEEL-SO-GOOD J Lloyd D E Ferraris 1 116 42 --

Steward Report Predict Pace Map
On arrival at the Start, J Lloyd expressed concern regarding the action of FEEL-SO-GOOD. FEEL-SO-GOOD was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, in his opinion, the horse was lame in the right hind leg and the left front leg and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of FEEL-SO-GOOD. Before being allowed to race again, FEEL-SO-GOOD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Shortly after the start, WIN-A-LOT was tightened for room between PERFECT GEAR and BRILLIANT ONE which shifted out. Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, BRILLIANT ONE, which was shifting in, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KING CREOLE which shifted out. BEL CANTO, which was following, was checked in consequence. Near the 900 Metres, WIN-A-LOT was checked when crowded for room between PERFECT GEAR which shifted out when proving difficult to settle and LIONS’ FORTUNE (Y T Cheng) which, after initially being taken in by LUCKY AMORE, shifted in of its own accord. Y T Cheng was advised, in similar circumstances, to make every effort to give his fellow riders sufficient racing room. In this incident, KING CREOLE, which was following PERFECT GEAR, was checked away from the heels of that horse and TELECOM SUPER STAR and FAST GO, which were following, were hampered. Approaching the 800 Metres, PERFECT GEAR, which was racing fiercely and proving difficult to settle, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of TAI HANG’S PRIDE which itself was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of LUCKY AMORE. After this, PERFECT GEAR continued to prove difficult to settle for some distance. LIONS’ FORTUNE got its head on the side and lay out making the turn near the 500 Metres. A veterinary inspection of WIN-A-LOT after the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY AMORE and PERFECT GEAR were sent for sampling.
