LEGEND LOVERS was slow to begin. FOREST FOUNTAIN had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 300 Metres, FERRABOSCO was checked when disappointed for running between LUCKY MONEY STAR and SOLAR WONDER, both of which shifted ground. Near the 100 Metres, WADASURPRISE turned its head to the right and attempted to savage WESTERN STAR. When being corrected by its rider, WADASURPRISE became awkwardly placed close to the heels of WESTERN STAR. As WADASURPRISE has previously attempted to savage another runner in a race, Trainer T K Ng was advised that prior to racing again, WADASURPRISE will be required to satisfactorily undertake an official barrier trial amongst other runners. Over the concluding stages, GALLANT GALLOP raced tight between SOLAR WONDER which shifted out slightly and FOREST FOUNTAIN which got its head on the side and shifted in. Because of this, GALLANT GALLOP was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. For the majority of the race, FANTASTIC GUY travelled wide and without cover. The performance of AIPODER IMAGE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AIPODER IMAGE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on LEGEND LOVERS at the request of Trainer T W Leung. The Veterinary Officer said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse`s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LEGEND LOVERS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GOLD CITY after the race did not show any significant findings. WADASURPRISE, FOREST FOUNTAIN and SOLAR WONDER were sent for sampling.
