On arrival at the Start, G Cheyne reported that GIANTS SERAPIS had coughed on two occasions on the way to the Start. The Veterinary Officer reported that an examination of GIANTS SERAPIS did not reveal any nasal discharge and the horse was not coughing at the time of examination. Accordingly, GIANTS SERAPIS, after the necessary consultations, was found to be suitable to race. BEAUTY SUCCESS was slow to begin. From wide barriers, IRON EAGLE and MR BOND were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, MING HOI TREASURE raced tight between GREAT ACHIEVEMENT and TRES MAGNIFIQUE, both of which shifted ground. In the early part of the Straight, MR BOND was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PERFECT TEN. Near the 200 Metres, MING HOI TREASURE was momentarily crowded for room inside TRES MAGNIFIQUE which shifted in marginally. After this, TRES MAGNIFIQUE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FLORA DANICA. After the 200 Metres, IRON EAGLE altered course to the outside of runners to obtain clear running. For the majority of the race, GOOD LUCK WIN travelled wide and without cover. G Mossé (MR BOND) was warned for using the whip in the forehand manner down the horse’s shoulder on a number of occasions in the Straight. MR BOND and MING HOI TREASURE were sent for sampling.
