POLYGOLD was slow to begin. From a wide barrier, MERACUS was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. At the 400 Metres, METREVELLI shifted out and bumped ALP’S GLORY when attempting to shift to the outside of LINKED WIN. In this incident, ALP’S GLORY became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by METREVELLI. For a short distance after this, METREVELLI had difficulty obtaining clear running. Shortly after the 400 Metres, SPARKLING was steadied when disappointed for running between LOTUS LOVE and LINKED WIN. Approaching the 200 Metres, DR UNION was crowded for room between NEWSWIRE TOO which shifted out and GRANDFIELD which shifted in after being bumped on the hindquarters by DR UNION. Near the 150 Metres, METREVELLI was disappointed for running between LOTUS LOVE and LINKED WIN. Near the 100 Metres, LOTUS LOVE and SPARKLING bumped as SPARKLING shifted out from behind EPEE DE HUA. Over the concluding stages, SPARKLING then shifted out away from the heels of EPEE DE HUA and in doing so brushed LOTUS LOVE which became unbalanced and made contact with ALP’S GLORY which also became unbalanced. Throughout the race, GRANDFIELD travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MERACUS and DR UNION after the race did not show any significant findings. LOTUS LOVE, EPEE DE HUA and SPARKLING were sent for sampling.
