MARVEL PLUS was withdrawn on 19.6.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GOOD SMILE (A Suborics). Before being allowed to race again, MARVEL PLUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Just prior to the start being effected, MEGABUCKS became fractious and as the start was effected sat back, resulting in it being slow to begin. ASMODAI began awkwardly and shifted out, resulting in METRO RIDER being crowded for room inside CRIMSON. WORLD WAY was slow to begin. From wide barriers, GOOD JOB and MEGA POSH were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, METRO RIDER proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed behind CRIMSON. Rounding the Home Turn, METRO RIDER was checked when crowded for room between TAKE BY STORM and CRIMSON which shifted out after being brushed by MEGABUCKS. Approaching the 200 Metres, MEGABUCKS was shifted to the outside of GOOD SMILE to continue improving. Near the 50 Metres, the whip of T H So (ASMODAI) momentarily became entangled in the reins. Throughout the race, THINK BIG and TAKE BY STORM travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of TAKE BY STORM after the race did not show any significant findings. BLESS US ALL and ASMODAI were sent for sampling.
