As the start was effected, METREVELLI lifted its front feet off the ground and began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, DYNAMIC CROSS shifted in and bumped ALP’S GLORY. Also shortly after the start, DR UNION, SPEEDY and MEGA POSH raced tight between GORGEOUS LIFE and BILLION GAINS which got its head on the side and shifted out. After the 1200 Metres, GORGEOUS LIFE shifted away from the heels of SEIZE THE DAY. Rounding the Home Turn, EPEE DE HUA momentarily raced in restricted room between ROCKET PROUD and GORGEOUS LIFE which shifted out. Then shortly after entering the Straight, EPEE DE HUA was crowded for room between DR UNION which shifted out and ROCKET PROUD which got its head on the side and lay in. Shortly after straightening, the saddle of H W Lai (DYNAMIC CROSS) shifted back. Passing the 400 Metres, METREVELLI was shifted out after being checked away from the heels of GLITTERING which was giving ground abruptly. The performance of GLITTERING, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GLITTERING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Approaching the 200 Metres, EASY TRACK became unbalanced in its action. Also approaching the 200 Metres, EPEE DE HUA momentarily raced tight inside MEGA POSH which shifted in slightly. Near the 50 Metres, DR UNION was shifted in away from the heels of GORGEOUS LIFE. For the majority of the race, DYNAMIC CROSS and ROCKET PROUD travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of BILLION GAINS after the race did not show any significant findings. ALP’S GLORY and GORGEOUS LIFE were sent for sampling.
