BEST JADE TRIUMPH was withdrawn on 4.5.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter STREET CAT to be ridden by M L Yeung who subsequently became indisposed on raceday morning and was replaced by W M Lai. Before being allowed to race again, BEST JADE TRIUMPH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being loaded, DRAGON GLORY became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON GLORY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. DRAGON GLORY began awkwardly. From wide barriers, KEEN WONGCHOY and GOOD TREASURE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. In the early and middle stages, FABULOUS NOVEMBER got its head up on a number of occasions when proving very difficult to settle. After the 100 Metres, STREET CAT and DRAGON GLORY bumped. Passing the 100 Metres, EXCITING DREAM got its head on the side and shifted in, resulting in its rider, W C Marwing, having to stop riding and straighten his mount. Throughout the race, MIGHTY K travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. D Whyte (AEROVELOCITY), the rider of the 7th placegetter, was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out right to the end of the race. A veterinary inspection of AEROVELOCITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. EXCITING DREAM, SUPER LIFELINE and FABULOUS NOVEMBER were sent for sampling.
