On entering the track, METALLIC STAR made contact with a rail. On arrival at the Start, METALLIC STAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said although the horse had sustained a small wound on the point of the left hip, it was suitable to race. KOKODA began awkwardly. FABULOUS NOVEMBER was slow to begin. From wide barriers, PSYCHOLOGIST and JOLLY SPRING were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Approaching the 900 Metres, SMART PLANET raced tight between PSYCHOLOGIST and MY NAME IS BOND which got its head on the side and shifted in. In this incident, SMART PLANET bumped PSYCHOLOGIST on a number of occasions. Then passing the 900 Metres, SMART PLANET was checked when crowded for room between PSYCHOLOGIST and MY NAME IS BOND which again got its head on the side and hung in despite the efforts of its rider. In the early stages, LONGWAH SUPREME got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle. When being steadied to allow JOYFUL THE GREAT to cross approaching the 800 Metres, DYNAMIC VOYAGE commenced to race keenly. In the middle stages, FABULOUS NOVEMBER proved difficult to settle and after the 700 Metres was left racing without cover. Near the 700 Metres, KOKODA was steadied away from the heels of SMART PLANET. After the 700 Metres, LONGWAH SUPREME commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SEASONS STAR. Passing the 200 Metres, SMART BALL was checked when crowded for room between MY NAME IS BOND which initially shifted in slightly when hanging in and DYNAMIC VOYAGE (K Teetan) which shifted out from behind FABULOUS NOVEMBER to obtain clear running. K Teetan was reprimanded and advised that whilst there was a contributing influence to this incident from MY NAME IS BOND, nonetheless he must ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. DYNAMIC VOYAGE was unable to obtain clear running until passing the 200 Metres. Throughout the race, SEA WARRIOR travelled wide and without cover. A Suborics (PSYCHOLOGIST) was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race at least hands and heels wherever possible. A Suborics was further reminded that the Stewards had previously had cause to speak to him regarding his riding out of his mounts over the concluding stages. After the race, M L Yeung stated that JOYFUL THE GREAT was disappointing in that it failed to finish off the race as it did at its last start when successful. He said however that he had to make more use of JOYFUL THE GREAT in the early stages today than at its most recent start. A veterinary inspection of JOYFUL THE GREAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on DYNAMIC VOYAGE at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, DYNAMIC VOYAGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of PSYCHOLOGIST and SMART BALL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DYNAMIC VOYAGE, METALLIC STAR and JOLLY SPRING were sent for sampling. <28/10/2013 Additional Veterinary Report> PSYCHOLOGIST, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. PSYCHOLOGIST was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg with a laceration to the right front fetlock. Before being allowed to race again, PSYCHOLOGIST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
