OPTIMISM was crowded for room at the start between MASTER AETIUS and DIVINE TEN which shifted out after being bumped by MI SAVVY which began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, J Moreira (DIVINE TEN) adjusted his right foot in the stirrup iron. ORACLE was slow to begin. FURIO (Apprentice C Y Lui) began awkwardly. After the race, Apprentice Lui reported that his saddle shifted slightly in this incident. Shortly after the start, SECRET AGENT raced tight between MY LITTLE FRIEND and VICTORIUS which was taken out by THE PRINCE. MI SAVVY lost its right front plate in the early stages. Near the 500 Metres, FURIO, which was racing greenly, was hampered when crowded for room between ORACLE and SECRET AGENT which got its head on the side and shifted out. After the 500 Metres, PURE FORCE raced tight outside ART OF SUCCESS. G Mosse (MY LITTLE FRIEND) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 400 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of MASTER AETIUS, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. G Mosse was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 24 February 2014 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). This suspension shall commence on Thursday, 13 February 2014 on which day Jockey Mosse was due to resume race riding from a suspension incurred at the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday, 22 January 2014. After the 300 Metres, MY LITTLE FRIEND got its head on the side and lay in under pressure. At the 100 Metres, FURIO was shifted in away from the heels of PENIAPHOBIA. Over the concluding stages, FURIO raced in restricted room between THE PRINCE and PENIAPHOBIA, both of which shifted ground. Because of this, FURIO was not able to be properly tested. After the race, K Teetan reported that SPEEDY SANDY was under pressure throughout the race to maintain its position and after the 500 Metres made an abnormal breathing noise. A veterinary inspection of SPEEDY SANDY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SPEEDY SANDY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DIVINE TEN and MY LITTLE FRIEND were sent for sampling.
