Steward Report Predict Pace Map
WINNING ADVANTAGE shifted out at the start, resulting in CELESTIAL SMILE and SKIP COURT being tightened for room inside FOREVER AHEAD. A short distance later, WINNING ADVANTAGE raced in restricted room between CELESTIAL SMILE and FUN HEROES which shifted out. From wide barriers, SURROUNDED and FASTER MORE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 1000 Metres, TELECOM TOP STAR was steadied away from the heels of TELECOM PRINCE which got its head on the side and shifted in marginally. In the early and middle stages, SKIP COURT travelled wide and without cover. Passing the 600 Metres, FASTER MORE raced tight between TELECOM TOP STAR and SUPER HORSE which shifted in. A short distance later, FASTER MORE was steadied and lost ground when unable to maintain its position between SUPER HORSE and TELECOM TOP STAR which shifted out. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FOREVER AHEAD, O Doleuze stated that the horse, which had been racing consistently of late without winning, races best when able to trail other horses for as long as possible before being presented for a short run. He said due to the field fanning in the early part of the Straight, FOREVER AHEAD was left racing without cover and after making a short dash commenced to give ground prior to the 300 Metres. A veterinary inspection of FOREVER AHEAD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of FUN HEROES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. TELECOM PRINCE and CELESTIAL SMILE were sent for sampling.
