On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to PLENTIFUL was refitted. DRAGON FIGHTER began awkwardly. From a wide barrier, STARTING OVER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. DASHING FORTUNE lost its right hind plate near the 1100 Metres. Near the 1000 Metres, BRILLIANT SHINE got its head up when racing keenly and awkwardly placed close to the heels of PACKING LLAREGYB. SUPREME FALCON was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight behind STAR OF BOND. Then near the 350 Metres, SUPREME FALCON attempted to improve between KING’S STEED and STAR OF BOND where there was insufficient room, resulting in SUPREME FALCON being checked when disappointed for running between these horses near the 200 Metres. As the Stewards were of the opinion that SUPREME FALCON had not established running between KING’S STEED and STAR OF BOND which shifted in marginally, no further action was taken. For the majority of the race, TARZAN I AM travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, C Y Ho stated that he shifted STARTING OVER into clear running in the early part of the Straight and immediately commenced to ride that horse with the whip in the right hand. He said STARTING OVER lay out when struck with the whip in the right hand and for this reason he ceased using the whip over a period from the 250 Metres until the 150 Metres at which time he again used the whip in the right hand. He said at this time STARTING OVER shifted out abruptly and as he formed the opinion that STARTING OVER resented being hit with the whip, he desisted using the whip on the horse, rather he rode it out vigorously hands and heels in the run to the finishing line. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on CREATIVE WINNER at the request of Trainer Y S Tsui. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CREATIVE WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of DASHING FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. PACKING LLAREGYB and MASQUERADER were sent for sampling. <31/3/2014 Additional Veterinary Reports>The Veterinary Surgeon reported that PLENTIFUL was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, PLENTIFUL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
