GLENEALY PRIZE was slow to begin. VICTORY FOLLOW ME began only fairly. KING OF MONGOLIA lost its right front plate on jumping and its left front plate after the 1200 Metres. Shortly after the start, as HANG’S DECISION was being shifted in across behind SUPERIOR BOY, that horse shifted out marginally, resulting in HANG’S DECISION striking the heels of SUPERIOR BOY and blundering badly. From a wide barrier, ENORMOUS HONOUR was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. HARD BALL GET was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Near the 950 Metres, HARD BALL GET was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KING OF MONGOLIA. Near the 900 Metres, SUPERIOR BOY was left racing wide and without cover. Rounding the Home Turn, ENORMOUS HONOUR was shifted out away from behind JADE FORTUNE. HARD BALL GET, which was following ENORMOUS HONOUR, was forced to shift out away from the heels of that horse in consequence. Passing the 350 Metres, HARD BALL GET was brushed by ENORMOUS HONOUR which was taken out by JADE FORTUNE which in turn was directed out by SUPERIOR BOY. ENORMOUS HONOUR then raced in restricted room and near the 250 Metres was steadied when unable to maintain its position between JADE FORTUNE and HARD BALL GET which shifted in marginally. Passing the 250 Metres, C Williams, the rider of GLENEALY PRIZE, momentarily stopped riding when improving between SEE ME NOW and SUNNY ORIENT which had its head on the side and was laying in. Passing the 200 Metres, KING OF MONGOLIA was awkwardly placed inside the heels of THE SHOW which drifted in. A veterinary inspection of SUPERIOR BOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. VOLITATION, WINNER’S WAY and KINGSFIELD were sent for sampling.
