HROVAT was withdrawn on 11.11.16 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter ENDEARING (S de Sousa). Before being allowed to race again, HROVAT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BEAUTY MASTER was slow to begin and consequently raced back in the field. EL SHERIF began only fairly. GO BABY GO began only fairly and then was bumped by GRACE HEART which shifted out after beginning awkwardly. After this, both GO BABY GO and GRACE HEART were ridden along, however, failed to muster speed. CELESTIAL NOVA began only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded for room between HERE WE COME and ENDEARING which began awkwardly and shifted in. Shortly after the start, FORTUNE BO BO shifted out and bumped TRAVEL SUCCESSOR. Near the 500 Metres, GO BABY GO was crowded for room outside GRACE HEART which, after initially getting its head on the side and shifting out away from ENDEARING, then raced tight outside that horse. ENDEARING was then shifted in to relieve the tightening to GRACE HEART and GO BABY GO. Approaching the 300 Metres, DIAMOND LEGEND was crowded for room between EL SHERIF and BEAUTY MASTER which got its head on the side and hung out. BEAUTY MASTER continued to hang out for the remainder of the race and proved difficult to ride. Near the 150 Metres, GO BABY GO was shifted in away from the heels of HERE WE COME which was hampered by ENDEARING (S de Sousa) which shifted out when not quite clear. S de Sousa was advised to exercise more care. Over the concluding stages, WATER DIVINER and FORTUNE BO BO raced tight. S de Sousa, the rider of the 4th placegetter, ENDEARING, was severely reprimanded for failing to ride his mount all the way to the finishing line. As the Stewards were satisfied that S de Sousa had only failed to ride ENDEARING out over about the last stride of the race, they could not be comfortable that his riding had affected the horse’s placing, however, he was told to ensure that he rides his mounts out all the way to the end of the race to the best of his ability. A veterinary inspection of GO BABY GO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEAUTY MASTER, WATER DIVINER and FORTUNE BO BO were sent for sampling.
