From the outside barriers, JOYFUL TRINITY and HELENE PARAGON were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 1300 Metres, ABLE FRIEND was awkwardly placed outside the heels of STRATHMORE. When attempting to improve into tight running between CONTENTMENT and BLIZZARD approaching the 300 Metres, SUN JEWELLERY was hampered when CONTENTMENT shifted out under pressure. SUN JEWELLERY was consequently held up for clear running until near the 200 Metres. Passing the 300 Metres, the whip of N Rawiller (BLIZZARD) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of J Moreira (ABLE FRIEND). Close to the finishing line, BLIZZARD shifted in and bumped CONTENTMENT, causing both horses to become unbalanced. HELENE PARAGON and ABLE FRIEND were sent for sampling.
