BEAR SLAM shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of JADE FORTUNE. WINNING FAITH began only fairly and then lost ground when crowded for room between KING GENKI and HANG’S DECISION which shifted out. Passing the 1400 Metres, WINNING FAITH was severely checked when crowded for room between GLORIOUS ARTIST and HANG’S DECISION which shifted out abruptly away from the heels of PACKING DRAGON as that horse gave ground when reluctant to maintain its position inside KING GENKI. Although the interference to WINNING FAITH was significant, the Stewards believed that this incident was not attributable to carelessness exhibited by any rider and accordingly no further action was taken. Passing the 1300 Metres, WINNING FAITH got its head up on a number of occasions when being checked away from the heels of GLORIOUS ARTIST. When being checked away from GLORIOUS ARTIST, WINNING FAITH shifted in, resulting in HANG’S DECISION being crowded for room. HANG’S DECISION was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINNING FAITH approaching the 1200 Metres, shifted out and bumped BEAR SLAM which subsequently travelled wide and without cover. The performance of PACKING DRAGON, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, PACKING DRAGON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ELUSIVE STATE, KING GENKI and RAGING BLITZKRIEG were sent for sampling.
