Steward Report Predict Pace Map
TRUE GRIT began awkwardly and made heavy contact with UNIVERSAL GO GO which then became unbalanced and shifted out, resulting in TRUE GRIT losing ground when badly crowded for room between UNIVERSAL GO GO and THE JOY OF GIVING which shifted in marginally. In this incident, THE JOY OF GIVING became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by TRUE GRIT. ELECTRIC LIGHTNING was crowded for room on jumping between LE PANACHE and HAPPY HOUR, both of which shifted ground. From a wide barrier, GOLD VELVET was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, MEDIC DRAGON was steadied away from the heels of HAPPY HOUR. Near the 1300 Metres, HAPPY HOUR commenced to travel keenly and raced tight inside MY FAMILY. At the 1200 Metres, MEDIC DRAGON was left racing wide and without cover. Approaching the 1100 Metres, ELECTRIC LIGHTNING was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLD VELVET. Approaching the 1000 Metres, HAPPY HOUR, which continued to travel keenly, shifted out away from the heels of MY FAMILY and then after being shifted back in behind that horse had to be checked away from the heels of MY FAMILY passing the 900 Metres. When HAPPY HOUR was checked away from the heels of MY FAMILY, THE JOY OF GIVING, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of that horse. GOLD VELVET, which was following THE JOY OF GIVING, shifted out away from the heels of that horse in consequence, resulting in ELECTRIC LIGHTNING being taken wider. After this, ELECTRIC LIGHTNING, when racing very wide, was allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead near the 600 Metres. Approaching the 850 Metres, TRUE GRIT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PERFECT TO PLAY. Passing the 800 Metres, HAPPY HOUR, which continued to prove difficult to settle, shifted in abruptly away from the heels of MY FAMILY and inconvenienced TRUE GRIT. At the 600 Metres, THE JOY OF GIVING became unbalanced when racing tight between HAPPY HOUR and GOLD VELVET. Near the 450 Metres, GOLD VELVET shifted out when being checked away from the heels of MEDIC DRAGON. At the 250 Metres, MR DARTHVEGAR jumped a mark on the track. Near the 150 Metres, HAPPY HOUR was momentarily eased away from the heels of TRUE GRIT which shifted out to obtain clear running. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY HOUR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. TRUE GRIT and UNIVERSAL GO GO were sent for sampling. <16/5/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>HAPPY HOUR, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. HAPPY HOUR was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C H Yip this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY HOUR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
