WINNING TOGETHER and PLANET NICCONI began awkwardly. KA YING MASTER shifted out at the start and bumped WHO’S HORSE. EPTIWINS was crowded for room on jumping between DANCING FIGHTER which shifted in marginally and ALL TIMES GRATEFUL which shifted out abruptly. ALLIED AGILITY was crowded for room on jumping between WINNING WAYS and U W BROTHER. In this incident, ALLIED AGILITY became unbalanced and shifted out, hampering U W BROTHER. After travelling a short distance, WHO’S HORSE got its head up and then approaching the 900 Metres was crowded for room between BRIGHT KID and WINNING TOGETHER which got its head on the side and shifted in away from BRAVERY AND POWER after initially racing tight inside that horse. Passing the 700 Metres, BRAVERY AND POWER was awkwardly placed inside the heels of ALL TIMES GRATEFUL. Near the 150 Metres, SUPER WINNER was momentarily awkwardly placed between KA YING MASTER and SUNSHINE UNIVERSE which shifted in to continue improving. After this, SUNSHINE UNIVERSE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KA YING MASTER. Also near the 150 Metres, WHO’S HORSE was shifted out away from the heels of BRAVERY AND POWER which lay out. Then after the 50 Metres, WHO’S HORSE was steadied away from the heels of EPTIWINS. Over the final 100 Metres, U W BROTHER was held up behind ALLIED AGILITY and consequently was not able to be tested. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ALLIED AGILITY, J Moreira stated that after being crowded for room at the start and becoming unbalanced, ALLIED AGILITY then travelled too keenly in the early and middle stages. He said, despite his efforts, ALLIED AGILITY would not relax and consequently was then not able to finish off the race over the latter stages. A veterinary inspection of ALLIED AGILITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. KA YING MASTER and DANCING FIGHTER were sent for sampling.
