SPLIT OF A SECOND was crowded for room on jumping between SUNNY LAD and TELECOM PUMA which shifted out. MANNA FROM HEAVEN shifted out at the start and bumped HARMONY SPIRIT which began awkwardly. After this, from the outside barriers, MANNA FROM HEAVEN and HARMONY SPIRIT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1150 Metres, SPLIT OF A SECOND was steadied away from the heels of AMAZING KNIGHT which was taken out by GRADE ONE. When being steadied in the early stages to obtain cover, CORRIENTHES travelled very keenly and near the 1050 Metres got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in SHAMPORT being bumped and taken wider. CORRIENTHES continued to travel keenly and near the 950 Metres got its head up when being checked away from the heels of HALL OF CHAMP which was being steadied to obtain cover behind AMAZING KNIGHT. CORRIENTHES continued to be awkwardly placed close to the heels of HALL OF CHAMP until near the 850 Metres at which stage the horse was left racing wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of CORRIENTHES immediately following the race revealed the horse to be displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, CORRIENTHES will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the 700 Metres, C Y Ho (SHAMPORT) adjusted his left stirrup iron. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, GRADE ONE lost ground after laying out and being awkwardly placed inside the heels of VICTORIAM which shifted in marginally. Near the 550 Metres, SHAMPORT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CORRIENTHES. After the 200 Metres, HALL OF CHAMP was shifted out away from the heels of AMAZING KNIGHT which shifted out under pressure. A veterinary inspection of MANNA FROM HEAVEN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. VICTORIAM and GRADE ONE were sent for sampling.
