SACRED IBIS began only fairly.
CHARIZARD and TELECOM ELITE bumped at the start. After this, TELECOM ELITE was steadied to obtain cover.
Also from a wide barrier, UNCLE STEVE was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Approaching the 1200 Metres, WIN WIN raced tight between HOLY HEART and CHARIZARD.
Near the 250 Metres, CHARIZARD raced tight outside HAPPY WARRIOR as that horse was shifted to the outside of HELENE WISDOM STAR.
Throughout the race, HELENE WISDOM STAR travelled wide and without cover.
C Schofield (FLYING QUEST) was warned against using his whip down the horse’s shoulder.
After the race, A Badel stated that SACRED IBIS did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race in comparison when he had ridden it previously. He said SACRED IBIS always felt unbalanced in the race and after following the eventual winner HOLY HEART rounding the Home Turn was not able to quicken with that horse and then did not finish off the race as anticipated. A veterinary inspection of SACRED IBIS immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SACRED IBIS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of WIN WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SACRED IBIS, HOLY HEART and FLYING QUEST were sent for sampling.
